2008 SUMMER STAFF
The Summer Leadership Team is composed of 16 Counselors and 2 Head Counselors, a Camp Director, and a Camp Nurse. Each staff member must have completed at least one year of college, and is required to have six (6) references. A statewide background check is run on each staff member, as well as a search on the sexual offender's nationwide list. At the start of the summer, all staff will go through over a week of training led by the Head Counselors, the Camp Director and those specialized in certain areas (First Aid/CPR, ADHD, Camper Behavior, etc.). Camp Director, Adam Ricker, will be serving his second summer as the Director. Adam is employed by the South Georgia Conference Office of Connectional Ministries. The Camp Ministry Team is composed of clergy and lay persons from across the South Georgia Conference who will help conduct interviews along with the Camp Director, select the Team members, and have a support role for the Team and Director throughout the summer. The CMT will be called upon, if necessary, to make mid-summer decisions regarding policy or staffing issues. |
