PURPOSE: Responsible for directing the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry for all ages.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Under the direct supervision of the Pastor and as a member of the staff, interact on a regular basis with other staff members, the various church committees and the congregation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLIITIES: These include
+ Coordinating the music ministry with the other ministries of the church and in coordination with the seasons of the liturgical calendar.
+ Assisting the Pastor in planning all congregational worship, including weekly worship and other special services.
+ Playing the piano and/or organ.
+ Supervising the music library and all other equipment and supplies.
+ Overseeing the proper care of choir robes and stoles.
+ Leading the Chancel choir rehearsal weekly.
+ Leading and scheduling rehearsals for other groups (youth & children).
+ Planning and implementing the annual youth choir tour.
+ Arranging special music during the year.
+ Recruiting and working with special musicians (soloists and instrumentalists).
+ Providing music weekly for the Wednesday After School program.
+ Participating in and encouraging music outreach to the community.
+ Keeping informed on current music methods, materials, worship styles, promotion
and administration.
+ Attending weekly staff meetings and monthly meetings as required by the pastor.
