Communications and Alumni Coordinator, Andrew College

The Communications and Alumni Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of Development and President by preparing correspondence, first drafts of foundation proposals and reports, news releases, copy for the development and alumni portions of the College website. In addition the Coordinator is the primary support person for College events involving the development office. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: --Development Communications --Create compelling, competitive, and timely proposals through by engaging in productive interactions with senior administrators. --Assists in the development of strategies and content for constituent engagement through the use of social media, websites, and press releases. --Develops and prepares persuasive donor appeals. --Drafts correspondence materials such as inquiries, acknowledgments, and donor reports. --Will research and manage an active portfolio of foundation prospects --Prepares foundation profiles and maintains up-to-date information on foundations. --Will work with the Director of Development on effective foundation stewardship. --Alumni Relations --Provide support for the Alumni Association --Work with Alumni Association to maintain accurate record database --Assist in the development and implementation of alumni engagement strategies --Support for Development Team --Attend department meetings and other staff meetings, as required --Other duties as assigned that benefit the College Minimum Requirements: --Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Marketing, Literature, or related field --Possess excellent oral, written communication skills --Position requires ability to meet tight, and sometime concurrent deadlines --Understanding of social media and emerging trends in social engagement --Commitment to donor relations and confidentiality --Be effective in working relationships with a broad range of individuals --Be a service oriented team player with the ability to be productive without close supervision Preferred: --Grant writing experience preferred --Understanding of Associated Press standards of writing --Working knowledge of foundations --Proficient use of Raisers Edge preferred Working Conditions: Office environment with minimum 25 lbs lifting required. Late afternoon, evenings and weekend work required as needed.
