Dear Editor,
During clean-up day here at Utmost United Methodist Church, kitchen issues became a major focus. It needed some thorough cleaning after the annual barbecue the United Methodist Men held recently.
Phinney Key said, “We ought to ban the United Methodist Men from using the kitchen. I don’t know why they left it is such a mess!”
Sally Solace said, “This is not a chronic problem with the UMM. They typically leave things in as good or better condition than when they found it. You may remember that three of their key leaders were out that day with that horrible virus that went around.”
Ima Notley said, “I still think the kitchen is not the place for men.”
Our pastor, Rev. Mostly Wright, said, “You ladies seem stuck in the past. Notice the spate of male chefs these days. Men often bring their own dishes to our family night dinners. Their dishes are usually quite popular.”
Susan Sanitary said, “Really, this was a one-time event, and we happened to catch the brunt of it. I have been impressed in the past that the UMM pays careful attention to hygienic details of their food preparation.”
Until next time ...
