United Methodist Student Day – November 27
The Student Day Special Sunday Offering helps provide funds for scholarships and loans for United Methodist students.  Student Day gifts make a real difference for those who hope to attend college. Ninety percent (90%) of the offering goes toward funding the many scholarships and loans administered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (www.gbhem.org) and 10 percent stays within our state and goes to Georgia UM-related schools for merit scholarships.  Contact the Georgia Commission on Higher Education and Campus Ministry (770-854-7283 or www.gahied.com) or visit www.umcgiving.org for more information and promotional materials.

Nativities from around the world display – Nov. 29 - January
Nativities from around the world will be on display at the Moore Methodist Museum at Epworth By The Sea from November 29 through the end of January.  In addition to the museum’s permanent exhibit of nativities, a huge display of approximately 200 nativities from Rev. Robert and June Brown’s collection of nativities will be displayed in the museum’s rotunda.  The event is free and open to the public.

Youth Celebration – December 2-4
Youth Celebration is a conference sponsored youth event that seeks to offer young people an opportunity to connect with Christ and one another in a safe and friendly environment. Intended for sixth through twelfth-grade students, this event is set for December 2-4 at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island.  Visit www.sgaumc.org for more information and to register. Early Response Team Training, Valdosta – January 20-21
An ERT Training will take place January 20-21 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. - noon.  The instructor will be Jamie Gibson, the South Georgia Conference UMVIM Coordinator. Clergy Sexual Ethics Workshop – February 9
A Sexual Ethics Workshop is scheduled for February 9, 2012, at Epworth By The Sea from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  This workshop is required every three years for persons serving under appointment by the Bishop (clergy, local pastors, extension ministers, appointed lay speakers). To register, please e-mail cpcassistant@sgaumc.com. This event is sponsored by the Conference Commission on Pastoral Counseling. Please note that spouses and lay employees who are not appointed by the bishop are not eligible to attend the workshop.

Disciple Covenant Conference – February 24-25
The 2012 Disciple Covenant Conference (DCC) is set for February 24–25, 2012, at the Macon Centreplex in Macon. The DCC is an experience where clergy, staff and laity come together to develop and improve personal and congregational covenants based on the timeless values of our faith. Speakers for the two-day event include Tim Stevens, Sister Kathleen Flood, Jim and Jennifer Cowart and Jay Hanson. Robert McMichael and Jarvis Wilson will lead worship for the event.
